Panjiva alternatives: six trade data tools compared, with EximAgent highlighted as free to start

The main Panjiva alternatives are ImportGenius, ImportYeti, Volza, Trademo, Descartes Datamyne and EximAgent. Pick ImportYeti if you want a free plan for US imports, ImportGenius for self-serve US bill of lading history, Volza or Datamyne for wide country coverage, Trademo for an enterprise platform, and EximAgent if you want an AI agent team for export-import that finds, researches and checks buyers, in the web app or inside Claude, Codex or Cursor.

Last checked: 21 Oct 2026 (see the table for each tool's check date).

Why look for a Panjiva alternative?

Panjiva is S&P Global Market Intelligence's supply chain intelligence product. It is a strong dataset, but it is built for enterprise and research teams, and that is usually why people search for something else.

No published price

S&P Global does not publish a Panjiva price on its product page, so you go through S&P Global to buy it. That suits a company buying research seats, not a small exporter who wants to test a few buyer searches this week.

You need one market or a buyer list, not a research platform

If your job is "find US importers of my product and contact them", a full supply chain research platform can be more than you need. Several alternatives sell a single country, or a buyer list, at a published price.

You want the data inside your AI assistant

More teams now work in Claude, Cursor or Codex. Some trade data tools offer an MCP server, CLI or API so an agent can query shipments directly. We did not find an official Panjiva MCP server (searched 21 Oct 2026). S&P Global's Kensho MCP server covers Capital IQ financial data, not Panjiva shipments.

How we compared the tools

We checked each tool's own product, pricing or documentation pages and linked them, so you can check them too. Dates are in the table. We did not buy every plan, so treat features as what each vendor documents, not test results. Where a vendor page would not load or did not show a figure, we say so instead of quoting third-party numbers.

EximAgent is our product. We ran its CLI ourselves on 17 Oct 2026 on an internal account without plan limits, so results on the Free plan may differ.

What we compared:

  • Coverage: which countries and date ranges.
  • Pricing model: published self-serve price, no published price, or usage-based.
  • Free option: free plan, free trial, or free to start.
  • Agent access: MCP server, CLI or API.

What Panjiva does well

S&P Global says Panjiva covers 2 billion transaction records, 22 countries providing source data, 9 million companies profiled in 190+ countries and 13 million company-to-company relationships (Panjiva, checked 21 Oct 2026).

If your analysts already work in S&P Global Market Intelligence and need deep company-to-company relationship data, Panjiva is hard to replace.

1. ImportGenius: best for deep US bill of lading history

ImportGenius sells two self-serve US plans on its site: USA Essentials Flex at $229 a month (the most recent 12 months of US imports) and USA Pro Flex at $449 a month (US data from 2006, higher limits and AI features). Annual plans are discounted, and Business and Enterprise plans go through sales (ImportGenius pricing, checked 21 Oct 2026). International datasets can be added from $159 a month per country on an annual commitment (multi-country access).

Choose it if you want long US import history at a published price and can start month to month.

Where it falls short: international coverage is an add-on, the self-serve plans are built around US data, and its pricing FAQ says "We do not offer free trials" (ImportGenius pricing, checked 21 Oct 2026).

2. ImportYeti: best free option for US imports

ImportYeti's pricing page lists three plans (ImportYeti pricing, checked 21 Oct 2026):

  • Free ($0): US imports (sea data) from 2015, with standard search limits.
  • Yeti Logistics Professional ($130/mo): adds US exports, US customs, Mexico imports and exports, US air and land data, higher search and export limits, 1 to 50 seats.
  • Yeti Logistics Enterprise (from $1,000 per org per month): adds negotiated seats, SSO, and API and MCP server access included (both are billed separately on the other plans).

ImportYeti also runs an MCP server for US and Mexico data, which is billed separately below Enterprise and charged per call in API credits (ImportYeti MCP docs).

Choose it if you want a free way to look up US importers and their suppliers.

Where it falls short: the free plan covers US imports only. For a full comparison of tools from ImportYeti's side, read ImportYeti alternatives compared.

3. Volza: best for wide country coverage in one subscription

Volza's pricing page lists a free trial ("No credit card needed"; the page shows both a $0 three-month trial tier and a 7-day free trial), a Startup plan covering 182 countries (premium countries excluded, 2 users, 6,000 searches) and SME and Corporate plans covering 200 countries with fair-use searching and 10 or 15 users. Data runs from 2014, and downloads use a points system that varies by country (Volza pricing, checked 21 Oct 2026). Volza also says it holds over 3 billion shipment records and offers verified contacts for up to 70% of companies.

The plan prices did not appear in the page content we could fetch, so check the current prices on Volza's page.

Choose it if you want many countries under one subscription.

Where it falls short: the entry plan excludes a list of premium countries, and download costs vary by country.

4. Trademo Intel: best enterprise platform with an AI layer

Trademo Intel runs on Trademo KG, which Trademo describes as "3B+ shipment records across 10M+ companies and 190+ countries" (Trademo Intel, checked 21 Oct 2026). Its Hermes MCP brings Trademo data into Claude (Trademo announcement, 7 Aug 2026). We found no published price on the Intel page.

Choose it if your company wants an enterprise platform with a large dataset and AI features, and can buy through sales.

Where it falls short: like Panjiva, it has no published self-serve price.

5. Descartes Datamyne: best for broad market coverage and daily US bills of lading

Descartes says Datamyne covers 230 markets across five continents, more than 75% of world import-export trade, adds 500 million+ shipment records a year, and adds about 26,000 US maritime import bills of lading each day, 24 hours after receipt from CBP (Descartes Datamyne, checked 21 Oct 2026). In September 2026 Descartes announced a Datamyne AI Agent that answers natural-language questions inside the platform (Descartes news).

Choose it if you need broad market coverage and fast US BOL data in one platform.

Where it falls short: we found no published price, and its AI agent lives inside Datamyne rather than in your own assistant.

6. EximAgent: an AI agent team inside your agent

EximAgent is an AI agent team for export-import that finds, researches and checks buyers using its own trade data and connected trade tools. It works as three agents: Analyst answers trade data questions such as who imports a product, Outbound researches buyers and drafts outreach, and Compliance handles HS codes, duties and OFAC sanctions screening (SDN list).

You can use it as an MCP server in Claude, Cursor or Codex (https://mcp.eximagent.ai/mcp), as a CLI, or in the web app. It is free to start (pricing); Start free in the web app. Shipment answers carry a coverage note.

Proof: a real importer list for US extra virgin olive oil

We asked the Analyst for the top importers of extra virgin olive oil (HS 150920) into the US over the trailing 12 months. Real output from EximAgent CLI v0.1.761 on Oct 17, 2026, condensed from the JSON response for readability:

Plain text
$ eximagent analytics query --groupBy importer --measures shipment_count \
--filters '[{"dim":"dest","op":"=","value":"US"},{"dim":"hs6","op":"=","value":"150920"}]' \
--timeWindow trailing-12m --orderBy shipment_count --descending --limit 10
scope: customs records from every filing country × into US × HS 150920 (extra virgin olive oil) × trailing-12m
coverage: partial

CERTIFIED ORIGINS 38
DRUPLEY 31
BONO USA 13
GEODIS COLOMBIA 11
ROSE CONTAINERLINE 10
MAEVA USA 10
SESAJAL 10
DEMISCO FOODS 9
NEWTRAL MEXICO 9
SEAMODAL TRANSPORT 9
warning RESULT_CAPPED: capped at 10 rows

Certified Origins leads with 38 shipments, followed by Drupley with 31. The list also shows a common limit of customs data: several names (Geodis Colombia, Rose Containerline, Seamodal Transport) look like logistics companies rather than end buyers. This lane's coverage is marked partial, so check a name before you treat it as a buyer. A second query grouped by source showed that all 536 shipments in this scope come from US CBP import manifests (us_cbp_import), so a US-only re-run returns the same list. Names such as Geodis Colombia, Newtral Mexico and Sesajal appear because the party named on a US manifest is not always the end buyer: it can be a forwarder or a company outside the US. Read more in customs data limitations.

Choose it if you want buyer research, HS codes, tariffs and OFAC sanctions screening in one account, inside the assistant you already use.

Where it falls short: coverage varies by lane and is often partial. It has no S&P-style company relationship data. It is not a long-history research archive like Panjiva or Datamyne.

Is there a free Panjiva alternative?

Yes, depending on what "free" means for you:

  • Free plan: ImportYeti's Free plan covers US imports from 2015 with standard search limits (ImportYeti pricing).
  • Free trial: Volza lists a free trial with no credit card needed (Volza pricing).
  • Free to start: EximAgent is free to start; start free in the web app.

None of these replace Panjiva's full dataset for free. They let you test whether shipment data answers your question before you pay.

Where Panjiva and other tools are stronger than EximAgent

  • Company relationship depth: S&P Global says Panjiva maps 13 million company-to-company relationships (Panjiva).
  • Analyst teams already on S&P Global: if your firm already licenses S&P Market Intelligence, adding Panjiva may be simpler than adding a new vendor.
  • Research over long periods: for multi-year, multi-country research, Panjiva, Datamyne or Trademo fit better than a self-serve buyer tool.

Which Panjiva alternative should you choose?

  • You want free US import lookups: ImportYeti.
  • You want deep US history at a published price: ImportGenius.
  • You want many countries in one subscription: Volza or Descartes Datamyne.
  • You are an enterprise team: Trademo, or stay on Panjiva.
  • You want buyer research, HS codes, tariffs and OFAC sanctions screening inside Claude, Cursor or Codex: EximAgent. Start free in the web app, or see the EximAgent CLI and MCP page or trade data overview.

Before you buy, run the same test query on two tools and compare the results. Our trade data provider evaluation checklist lists what to check.

When to choose EximAgent

Choose EximAgent when the goal is not a research archive but a short list of buyers you can act on: who imports your product, whether they look like real end buyers, their HS code and duty context, and a sanctions check before you reach out. It is free to start, so you can run your own product and market before you decide. Start free.

FAQ

What is the best free alternative to Panjiva?

For US imports, ImportYeti's Free plan is the most complete free option we found. Volza lists a free trial with no card needed, and EximAgent is free to start.

How much does Panjiva cost compared with ImportGenius, Volza and ImportYeti?

Panjiva and Trademo publish no self-serve price on their product pages. ImportGenius lists $229 and $449 monthly US plans. ImportYeti lists Free, $130 a month and Enterprise from $1,000 per org per month. Volza lists Startup, SME and Corporate plans; check its page for current prices.

Which Panjiva alternative covers the most countries?

By their own figures, Descartes Datamyne says 230 markets and Volza says 200 countries (182 on its Startup plan). Coverage depth differs by country, so check the countries you need.

Is there a Panjiva alternative I can use inside Claude, Cursor or Codex?

Yes. EximAgent, ImportYeti and Trademo offer MCP servers. See trade data MCP servers compared.

Does any Panjiva alternative match its company relationship data?

That is Panjiva's main strength: S&P Global says it maps 13 million company-to-company relationships. The alternatives here focus on shipment records and company profiles, so compare relationship depth on a test query before switching.

Is Panjiva data the same as US customs bill of lading data?

US bill of lading data is one of Panjiva's sources, and many alternatives use the same US manifest feed. Differences come from other countries, history, name cleanup and linked company data. See what bill of lading data reveals about buyers.

About this guide

Written by Juno, EximAgent Research. We checked each tool on its own pages on the dates shown and linked every source. EximAgent facts come from EximAgent's own documentation and a CLI run on 17 Oct 2026. Read how EximAgent labels and sources its data. If you spot an error or an outdated claim, contact us and we will correct it.

Conclusion

Panjiva is a strong enterprise dataset, but most teams searching for an alternative want a published price, one market, or data inside their AI assistant. ImportYeti covers free US lookups, ImportGenius covers deep US history at a published price, Volza and Datamyne cover many countries, Trademo is the enterprise option with an AI layer, and EximAgent turns shipment data into a buyer short list inside the tools you already use. Run the same test query on two of them before you pay.
