You need a ranked list of US importers for a product—not a scraped directory. This tutorial pulls that list from customs records with the EximAgent CLI or connector (hosted MCP server). We use green coffee, HS 090111, as the worked example. Output below is from a real run on 27 Oct 2026 (Asia/Saigon).
Customs data is incomplete by design. Treat the ranking as research, not a full market census. See customs data limitations.

If you only have a description, classify first:
eximagent hscode search --query "green coffee beans, not roasted" --limit 5For this walkthrough we already know the six-digit code: 090111 (coffee, not roasted, not decaffeinated). Browse the code on the HS code lookup or the importer list for 090111.
Ask for importers into the US, grouped by company, ordered by value over the trailing 12 months:
eximagent analytics query \ --groupBy importer \ --measures value_usd,shipment_count \ --filters '[{"dim":"hs6","op":"=","value":"090111"},{"dim":"dest","op":"=","value":"US"}]' \ --timeWindow trailing-12m \ --orderBy value_usd --descending --limit 8In chat with the connector: "Who are the top US importers of HS 090111 in the last 12 months by value?"
Condensed from the JSON response for readability (columns shown: importer, shipment_count, value_usd). Source: EximAgent connector, exim__analytics__query, trailing-12m, dest=US, hs6=090111.
scope: customs records … HS 090111 (Coffee, not roasted : Not decaffeinated) × into US (United States) × over trailing-12mcoverage status: partial · confidence: 0.9

Use eximagent analytics query with --groupBy importer, filters on hs6 and dest (for example US), --timeWindow trailing-12m, and --orderBy value_usd --descending. The same tools power the connector in chat.
No. Rankings reflect filed customs records in coverage, not every importer that exists. Coverage is reported as partial in the sample run. Treat the list as research, not a full market census.
